Google responds to reports of new ads on the Android TV home screen

[ad_1]

This week, reports began to appear that Google was placing ads on the home screen. Apparently, Google is testing ads on the home screen showing a row of sponsored content. This exploded with a wide range of Android TV owners who saw the new ads.

Google has contacted Cord Cutters News to make it clear that it is testing a sponsored line on Sony TVs, but that this offer is exclusive to Sony TVs. According to Google, there is "a pilot program on some Sony devices".

According to Google, they do not place new ads on other Android TV devices, including Xiaomi and Nvidia devices, as has been reported.

Ads on the home screen are not new. Roku and Amazon are best known for this and even Apple TV shows recommend shows and movies on the Apple TV home screen. It now appears that Google plans to run ads similar to ads on Roku and Amazon to promote the content offered on the device.
