Google rolls out dark mode for desktop search

[ad_1]

Google is finally rolling out a dark theme for desktop search. The change was spotted as early as December, but the feature is now official and rolled out to all users “over the next few weeks,” according to an update from a Google product support manager.

You can get the new theme, not quite black, by going to Settings> Search settings> Appearance and selecting “dark.” There is also a “device default” option which will automatically update the theme according to your device settings.

While the change is starting to roll out now, it could take a few days or weeks before it becomes available to everyone. 9to5Google further note that some users have spotted a sun icon that can be used to turn it on or off without delving into the settings page, although it is not clear if this is an official part update or other test.
