Google Search Console Adds Datasets to Enhancements Report Section

Google has added a new report to Google Search Console to help you see how your datasets work in Google Search. The new report can be found in the Enhancements section under "Datasets" if and only if you are using dataset markup on your web pages.

What are the datasets. In 2018, Google launched Google Dataset Search, a search service to find data from science, government, and some news organizations. Google has also launched a new schema that developers can use to tag the content of your web page, if any, with a data set schema. This schema allows users to better visualize the data represented on a web page directly in Google's search results.

The new report. As mentioned earlier, the new report is available in the Google Search Console in the Improvement section. The new report shows the errors and warnings, if any, as well as the number of URLs on which valid dataset markup is applied.

Why do not I see that? Google said that if you did not use a data schema, the report would not be displayed for you. Even if you use it, the report may not be displayed either. This might not show up because you have recently added the schema and the processing of this schema by Google may take a long time. This might not appear because Google decides not to display rich results in search results.

Why we care Having more information from Google about the health of our pages in searches is a good thing. If you have implemented a data set schema, this new report should be able to help you identify potential problems and correct them later.
