Google think foldable smartphones will become a thing, updates the application Photos

Despite the difficult start of Samsung's Galaxy Fold, foldable smartphones are here to stay and Google does not want to miss the opportunity to make all of its applications fully compatible with these devices.

Google Photos is one of the first applications developed by the search giant that supports foldable smartphones. This is a welcome addition, considering the fact that the world's first smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Fold, is expected to debut in the market on April 26th.

The improvements made to those who own a foldable smartphone include screen continuity and multiple recovery, 9to5google points out. As of next week, 200,000 Samsung Galaxy Fold users will benefit from improvements made today by Google.

But that's not the only change added in the latest Google Photos update. The iOS version of the app has been updated with an indicator that will allow users to see at first sight which videos and photos have not been saved yet. The new view of the gallery will help users to proactively choose what to save. So it is certainly an interesting improvement.

Although the above changelog has already been published in the Google Play Store, the update bringing all the new features and enhancements is not yet available, but at least we know what lies ahead.
