The Chromecast interface with Google TV has been mostly praised as an improvement over Android TV, but some things are still missing. Until now, for example, it hasn’t been possible to hide shows from the “Continue Watching” section of the home screen, but that looks set to change. While Android TV continues to support Google TV functionality, at least this important thing goes the other way.

Long press on a TV show or movie residing in this section produced only one Open previously, but a Redditor just noticed that they now have a Hide button below (via 9to5Google). This is exactly what you need if you are done watching something and you don’t want it to clog your feed anymore.

Hide to continue watching on Google tv was added from Chromecast

I don’t have this capability yet despite my Chromecast running the latest firmware, so this may be a limited test at this time. It shouldn’t take too long to roll out more widely, however.

This is great news that is sure to please tons of users, but how about making the shows appear consistently in the “Keep Watching” section in the first place. In my experience only two items show up in the carousel and only from Netflix, although we are currently watching series from several different services. Sort it out, Google – this could be one of your best products with just a little more care.
