Google would work on a Mini Mini smart speaker with a powerful sound

The (re) absorption of Google's smart home appliance manufacturer by Google in 2018 has resulted in a change to Google's smart speaker brand, starting with the awkward Google Nest Hub Max.

But according to 9to5Google, the big brother of Google Home Hub will not be the only smart device of the new range. A "reliable source" has revealed to the online publication that the technology giant was planning to launch a Nest Mini, to follow the smaller range of Google Home smart speakers.

According to the report, the Nest Mini – if this is the name of the latest device announced – will have a better soundscape than the Google Home Mini and can be mounted on a wall.

Bite in the donut

According to 9to5Google, the Nest Mini will have improved bass, a higher maximum volume setting and a higher overall sound than its predecessor. It will also feature a 3.5mm audio jack, putting the new smart speaker in direct competition with Amazon Echo Dot.

In addition, although third-party wall mounts are currently available for the Google Home Mini system, the Nest Mini system can be mounted directly to the wall. However, we do not know how to achieve this goal, 9to5Google speculating that the speaker could wear a small furrow at the back to cling to a hook. Alternatively, Google could ship a wall mount in the box.

The Nest Mini may also have proximity sensors, like Nest Home Max and JBL Link View. Motion sensors on smart screens make sense because they are used to reactivate the home screen as users get closer. However, on the Nest Mini, it is assumed that the proximity sensors will only be used to display the current volume level of the device.

For all the rest, all we know is that the Nest Mini will probably have a size similar to that of the current Google Home Mini smart speaker, if it's not a little bit more great. We do not know if this time we will see different colors or four identical colors (Aqua, Chalk, Charcoal and Coral) – or if the introductory price will change to reflect the additional features.

If this report is true, it is possible that the Google Mini Nest will debut with Pixel 4 phones later this year (possibly in October).
