Google's Pixelbook Go adopts the traditional approach of laptops

Google is hosting a big event next month. We are expecting two new Pixel devices, but Google will also be offering something to Chromebook fans. The company will not have a new Pixelbook 2, but it will come out with something slightly different: the Pixelbook Go.

9to5Google reports that the Pixelbook Go is a standard flip-top laptop, lacking one of the 2-n-in-1 features, designed for portability. The device has a tactile feel at the back of the design that makes it easier to hold, apparently. It is also lighter than the original Pixelbook thanks to the magnesium alloy body. However, the support of the Pixelbook pen will be removed.

This is not the first time we see the Pixelbook Go. The device seems to have been called internally "Atla", and we've already seen a video of the device itself:

In terms of specifications, the Pixelbook Go will feature a 13.3-inch 16: 9 screen, with a Full HD variant and a 4K variant. The device will feature an Intel Core i7 processor, a 16GB RAM and 256GB of storage. Apparently, it also has a much more powerful speaker than the original Pixelbook, thanks to the speakers located at the front.

The price of the device should be similar to that of the original Pixelbook or Pixel Slate, and it will be available in the colors "Just Black" and "Not Pink".
