Gordon Ramsay has a full house, but his wife Tana is already thinking about the next addition to their family.
The “MasterChef” star revealed to Jimmy Fallon that his wife recently offered to have a sixth child during the lockdown.
“Tana is asking for a sixth through the lockdown,” Ramsay told Fallon when appearing on “The Tonight Show” on Monday. “Because literally two hours ago our Prime Minister just announced that we are now locked up until February 15.”
On Monday evening, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that England was returning to a full national lockdown – meaning schools would be closed and people would be forced to stay at home.
Ramsay said that when they heard the announcement, Tana told him “we have some good news”.
“I said, ‘What the hell is that baby? He remembers. “She said, ‘Tomorrow night we can go for number six.”‘
“I need to talk to him,” Fallon replied, laughing. “No, no, that’s just not fair!”
Ramsay also revealed that none of his children wanted to follow in his footsteps and become a chef, although he is hoping that might change with his youngest Oscar, aged 21 months.
“Oscar, in my mind, is my last hope to bring someone into the industry,” Ramsay said. “Our oldest daughter works in public relations, Holly – our second daughter – is in fashion. Tilly is taking a year off, Jack has become Royal Marine. Everyone has left the nest and no one wants to cook.”
Ramsay said he hoped that by refining Oscar’s palace now, he could just get his son to live in the kitchen.
“It starts off with lovely oatmeal in the morning with caramelized banana,” Ramsay told Fallon. “I’m going to make him a small, light scrambled egg on toast for lunch, and then for dinner tonight he’s had roasted butternut squash soup!”
“This kid is spoiled rotten, you’re kidding me!” Fallon said. “But you know no one is going to take over the family business – that’s how life works.”
“I think they’ve watched too many reruns of ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ thinking ‘F — this is not my career!’” Ramsay replied, referring to the popular TV show he is trying on. to help save ailing restaurants.
While Ramsay’s older kids don’t have great culinary aspirations, they still love to cook.
In August, Ramsay filmed a TikTok of himself reacting as his 21-year-old daughter Holly tried to make his potato gnocchi recipe.
“Holly! Thought I taught you better,” he wrote in the caption.
And Ramsay’s 19-year-old daughter Tilly made headlines when she revealed on TikTok that she actually preferred her mom’s cooking to what her dad “MasterChef” does.
Tana is a bestselling author who has published six cookbooks for families looking for simple and delicious meals.
