‘GoT’ star Sophie Turner says if she can ‘wear a mask’ during childbirth, ‘you can wear a mask at Walmart’

Sophie Turner has something to say.

The 24-year-old “Game of Thrones” alumnus recently took to Instagram to tackle face masks, which have become a point of contention across the country as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

Masks that cover both the mouth and nose are recommended by health officials to help prevent the spread of particles in public spaces, although some believe they are a restriction on their personal freedoms, as many establishments require that they be worn to enter.

Turner recently addressed the controversy on his Instagram Story with a simple video post.

“If I can wear a mask while I’m giving birth, you can wear a mask at Walmart,” she says, according to Page Six. “And that’s the tea.”

Turner shares a child with 31-year-old Joe Jonas. The baby, believed to be a baby girl named Willa, was born in July.

The outlet reports that Turner and Jonas live in Los Angeles, currently a hotspot for the coronavirus. Gov. Gavin Newsom recently passed a regional stay-at-home ordinance after intensive care unit capacities fell below 15% in parts of California.

The Los Angeles Times recently reported that fewer than 100 beds are available in intensive care units throughout LA County.

Turner previously gave fans a little glimpse into his life with Jonas in quarantine.

The star appeared on “Conan at Home” in April and admitted that since being stuck at home, she dressed for comfort, frequently wearing sweatpants.
