In a recent interview, GOT7 talked about their upcoming comeback with their fourth full-length album “Breath of Love: Last Piece”!
JB shared that the album is even more meaningful because all the members participated in it and because it showcases the uniqueness of each member. Mark commented, “I was really happy to be able to add a song that I have done in the past.” The members thanked their fans, and Youngjae explained, “I think our fans are the reason I can breathe and the reason I can sing as an artist, so I wanted to express those feelings through the album and titles.
“Breath of Love: Last Piece” has two songs listed as title tracks. Youngjae (under his producer name Ars) co-composed and co-wrote the lyrics for the title track “Breath”, and JB (under the name DEFSOUL) co-composed and co-wrote the lyrics for the other. main track “LAST PIECE”. JB revealed that he was initially surprised that two songs were chosen as the title song and that he worked especially hard while directing the recording and working on the mixing and mastering.
Jackson shared, “It was tough, but we’re satisfied and very happy,” and Jinyoung commented that they prepared at leisure because they had enough preparation time. He added, “The two video clips are connected, so viewers can have fun finding the tracks they like while watching them together.” Yugyeom revealed that the music video for “Breath” uses a new filming technique, while the focal point of the music video for “LAST PIECE” is the choreography.
Youngjae shared that the music video for “Breath” was filmed as a drama. He revealed that “’LAST PIECE’ originally had more choreography scenes, but due to my herniated disc during filming, I wasn’t able to film everything that was originally planned. I’m sorry for the members. “
Mark explained, “There were a lot of scenes where I had to dance alone so it was awkward. We practiced the choreography together, but since I had to dance alone, I felt a bit under pressure. Youngjae added that he felt like he was on a dramatic film set.
Each of the members also presented the song in which they participated. Mark shared, “I created the song ‘Born Ready’. I wanted to do a song like “Hard Carry”, which the fans enjoy. It means that we were born ready and just waiting for that hour to come.
Jackson shared, “I worked on the song ‘SPECIAL’ with composer BOYTOY. I wanted to express to the people who have always supported and loved me that they were a special existence for me. My favorite line is, ‘Stay like this, girl, because it’s like you.’ “
Jinyoung revealed, “I wanted to share my thoughts on life flowing like a wave through the song ‘WAVE’. I wanted to say that I was able to endure thanks to the people who cherished me at the end of this wave. The phrase I like is: “We’re riding this wave. We laugh through the pain. ”
BamBam commented, “’Waiting For You’ is being unable to forget the other person and always missing them. My favorite part is the chorus. Yugyeom shared, “‘Now I will’ (literal title) contains the feeling of always being grateful to the other person and wanting to say ‘Thank you’ rather than hearing it.”
The album teaser images reflect the moment of falling in love, ending love, and the peak moment in love. JB revealed that the photo shoot for the concept of falling in love was the most memorable for him. He explained, “During the filming, I gently closed my eyes when they sprayed the smoke. I felt that when I fell in love I would feel scared and excited, but at the same time I felt like I had to forget everything and get drunk with this emotion, so I closed my eyes. I asked the photographer to save this cut.
Jinyoung revealed that he had the most fun expressing the peak moment in love, while Youngjae shared that he enjoyed taking pictures with pieces of crystal the most.
Finally, the members shared some interesting events that occurred during the preparation of the album. JB shared, “I was controlling my weight, but my face swelled right from the start of filming, so I worked hard to get the swelling out.” Youngjae revealed, “Since the members wrote the songs themselves, we’ve been leading each other. JB’s song was so high pitched that it was difficult to sing it. BamBam added, “I had other activities going on during the album preparation period so I had to keep changing my hair color. So when you look at the photos and videos, you will see that my hair color is slightly different. “
