"Gotham" trailer: the joker is a serious card

A trailer that has just been released for the episode of the Fox series next Thursday Gotham shows the return of Jeremiah Valeska (Cameron Monaghan), this mischievous and smiling madman who seems locked in a death dance with the entire city – but especially with the orphaned son of Thomas and Martha Wayne.

The character of Valeska is one of the most intriguing elements of Gotham who is in his fifth and last season. The show's creative team was reluctant from the start to include the Joker in their previous saga about Bruce Wayne's life leading to the adoption of Batman's hidden nickname. They gave in before the end of the first season when they introduced Valeska, the beloved son of circus artists whose backgrounds and personalities were inspired by the familiar Joker mythology (though this mythology changes so often and as dramatically as is a joke to consider anything like a cannon.) and was described by the producers of the series as part of the generational lineage of madmen that embraces the evil clown character who is somehow rooted in the past Haunted Gotham City. Essentially, like the Overlook Hotel in The brilliant, the bloodthirsty tradition of craziness in Gotham is part of a cycle.

That's why the Joker is the joker in the Gotham City card game. It's a way to not only connect to the traditions of comics (like the The murder joke DC Comics story that echoed interestingly in Jeremiah's appearances) and a selection of feature film footage (by channeling the sneaky rendition of Heath Ledger, for example), but also to release the fiction room so the previous one may contain surprises along the way.

The cast includes Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Morena Baccarin as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot / The Penguin , Erin Richard as Barbara Kean, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle / the future Catwoman, Cory Michael Smith in the role of Edward Nygma / The Riddler, Chris Chalk in the role of Lucius Fox.

Pilot's Summary: "Gordon is trying to uncover the criminal element that threatens to end the negotiations on Gotham's reunification with the continent. Jeremiah, very much alive, returns and organizes a twisted reenactment of the murder of Bruce's parents, with the help of Jervis Tetch, aka Mad Hatter (guest star Benedict Samuel), in the brand new Ace Chemicals episode of Gotham aired Thursday, February 21 (8 pm to 9 pm ET / PT) on FOX.
