Not enough women executives in Silicon Valley? They can still be Photoshopped in.

GQ magazine recently removed a photo from its website after learning that the two women accompanied by 15 technical leaders had been added digitally.

The two women in question – Lynn Jurich, CEO of SunRun, and Ruzwana Bashir, CEO of Peek – reportedly participated in an event in the home of Italian designer Brunello Cucinelli, but were not part of the group that had photographed. Their images were added later.

"When we realized that we did not have a photo where all the participants were represented, we added photos of two women CEOs taken over the weekend," said a spokeswoman. Cucinelli's word to BuzzFeed. "The photos were shared and approved with all the participants, including the two women. We did not want to say anything wrong or had any malicious intent to do so and we are sorry. "

Jeff Bezos, who also participated in the weekend trip but did not appear on the photo, would have refused to be photographed.

GQ told BuzzFeed that the photo had not been altered and that she had removed it from the story as it did not meet the magazine's "editorial standards".
