After a month of controversial designs of upscale homes and trendy clothing brands, Tommy Hilfiger's collaboration with Zendaya finally came to fruition.

The Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya showcase celebrated diversity at Paris Fashion Week, focusing only on African-American models to present the line inspired by the 70s, including the iconic Grace Jones.

While listening to her hit song "Pull Up to the Bumper", the 70-year-old supermodel and singer strutted and danced She makes her way to the track to end the show on Saturday with a shiny body and a blazer with metallic stripes.

The parade's queens did not stop there. Pioneering models Beverly Johnson, 66, the first African-American model to cover American Vogue; Pat Cleveland, 68, often described as the first black model in the world; and Veronica Webb, 54, the first African-American woman to have a major cosmetics contract, have all walked.

Zendaya, who stated that Hilfiger had given him full control over the designs, was inspired by the "iconic women" of the late 1970s and early 1980s. The collection included Breton stripes, leather trousers and trousers. flared denim, body-hugging overalls, and a shimmering pleated silk dress with a cloak.

At the end of the show, the entire distribution of African-American models paraded for Sister Sledge's "We Are Family", which led the audience to sing in a fun way.

The high-energy presentation gave guests, including models Gigi Hadid and Tyra Banks, the Saturday night fever.

"You see my face, I'm in Paris, watching so many ferocious black women of all generations of models represent our beauty during the #TommyNow show," tweeted Banks. "I'm so proud of Mizz Designer @Zendaya!"

"The clothes are more than epic (I'm wearing it in this photo!) And I still want a lot of it," she wrote in another tweet. "I am still boppin 'to all the jams of my childhood they burst in the series."

Zendaya herself was always admired. "I'm still in shock and so moved and moved by this show … I'm speechless, thanks a thousand times @TommyHilfiger," she tweeted.

The star of "Spider-Man: Homecoming" told The Associated Press how this collaboration had occurred: "I received a call from Tommy Hilfiger himself, which was pretty crazy. I did not expect it. "

Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the industry, Zendaya made reference to the famous fashion show "The Battle of Versailles" held in 1973 at the Palace of Versailles in France. It pitted American designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Stephen Burrows with French designers Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Cardin and Hubert de Givenchy.

The diversity of the series has peaked in the fashion industry, after several controversial creations.

Just last month, Gucci landed in hot water for a blackface-like wool sweater, while Burberry apologized for sending a model to the podium at London Fashion Week, dressed in a hoodie with a buckle around the neck.
