Gran Turismo gets a racing version of Genesis X concept

the Genesis X Concept is perfect. It is not a position that I can defend with reason, so I will not try. It’s the kind of thing you see and feel, reminding you that cars can still leave you completely stunned just based on their design.

Genesis could make this a reality one day; I pray that he will. Until then the mark has taken Grand tourism imagine what a racing version might be like if the vehicle ever entered the track. This is called the concept GR3, “GR3” being the abbreviation of GT Group 3 nomenclature, essentially the fictitious version of the GT3 class game. It is completed by another addition to the list of fakes Grand tourism racing cars, the G70 GR4. This is the G70 sedan, which also looks unreasonably good, except this one has a splitter and wing to fit the crowd in Group 4.

Both have been fitted out in a two-tone matt bronze and metallic black finish. The G70 also has yellow headlights and fog lights, as the best GT cars do. The only thing I don’t entirely agree with are the rear wheels of the GR3 concept – they sort of look like something taken from a 350Z in Need for speed underground. But the turbofans up front are glorious.

The GR3 concept is interesting in the context of Grand tourism because – and I am almost 100% positive about it – it would be the only EV in the Group 3 class. After all, the X Concept was said to be electric, although the car doesn’t actually exist and therefore technically doesn’t have a powertrain. Polyphony Digital could represent the GR3 concept in GT Sport in the same way he handled the Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo, with electric and internal combustion versions. The electric Audi is not allowed in competitive balanced performance racing, but the ICE is.

Genesis is also working on a Vision Gran Turismo concept, which will likely be more radical than either. But it is not yet done. Genesis presented three proposals over the weekend at Monterey Car Week, dubbed Alpha, Bravo and Charlie, exclusively in virtual reality. The company hasn’t posted any photos of them alongside the GR3 and G70 GR4, so only those in attendance know what they look like.

Oddly enough, Polyphony Digital has yet to publish or share any information about these cars, indicating that they may be intended for Gran Turismo 7 rather than due for GT Sport in a future update. GT Sport last update in July presented the new Toyota GR 86. GT7 was originally slated for release in 2021, but was postponed until next year; it looks like it will release on both PS4 and PS5, according to our friends at GTPlanet.
