GTA 5 Lamar roasting Franklin memes has continued to be prevalent in gambling circles over the past few days. The meme format, which we talked about here on ComicBook.com just a few days ago, has only continued to evolve even more since then. Now, he may have hit his crescendo with arguably the best iteration of the meme yet.
Courtesy of PlayStation Haven, the YouTube channel was able to get the real actors of Lamar and Franklin to reprise their roles as character and star in the scene. Slink Johnson and Shawn Fonteno, who each represent Lamar and Franklin respectively, can be seen in the video below playing the iconic cutscene of Grand Theft Auto V with absolute perfection. Everything about it, from the way the camera moves to the intonation of Johnson and Fonteno’s voices, is nailed down in this recreation.
What fascinates me the most about this whole video is the fact that it even exists so quickly. This Lamar-roasted Franklin meme format only gained popularity over the past two weeks, so Fonteno and Johnson got together to play this scene so quickly is a bit surprising. I could’ve imagined it would become a thing maybe in a few weeks or months, but for both actors, being able to make it happen at the height of the internet meme’s popularity is really fun. . Well done to Fonteno and Johnson for doing this and surely making many people around the world smile.
