Country singer Granger Smith says his youngest son, River Kelly Smith, has died as a result of an undisclosed accident. According to several reports, the boy drowned in an accident at Smith's home.

In a statement released Thursday on Instagram, Smith said that after the doctors had been unable to resuscitate the 3-year-old, the family had decided to donate his organs to other children. . Smith said the family was heartbroken, but took comfort in River's being with God. The family has asked for donations to the Dell Children's Medical Center in central Texas.

Smith, who has signed for Broken Bow Records, released the songs "If The Boot Fits", "Backroad Song" and "Happens Like That". He and his wife, Amber, also have another son and a daughter – Lincoln, 5 and London, 7, according to ET.
