Weegar had the advantage over the whole fight. He hit the left-handers while firmly grabbing Byron's shirt. After two hits, Weegar connected with a left-handed uppercut who pushed Byron on the ice. The crowd jumped and the referee broke the fight.
Byron took a long time to get back on his feet and needed the help of a referee to get out of the ice.
The Canadians defeated the Panthers 6-1. Byron never came back.
