The morbid story of Pony, the imprisoned oracle who raped people in a house of tolerance

On a dirty, chained mattress with makeup and ear curls, Pony, a kidnapped and imprisoned oracle woman, waited for her next client.

Nobody knows exactly how long Pony was forced to stay there before saving. But it took more than a decade to overcome what he was going through. The animal has not acquired the necessary skills to survive alone in the wild.

Former teacher Michelle Desilets began volunteering in Borneo in 1994, where she observed orphaned orangutans. She was running the Orangutan Survival Foundation Borneo UK during the Pony Rescue.

"It was horrible, he was a bad slave, he was a grotesque, she was full of absences, she wore clothes and earrings," he told The Sun Online.

"He must have suffered a lot – it's rude to think how terrified he should be." The men were twice as big as the animal.

"In my naivete, I never thought that it was humanly possible to do that on an animal," said Lone Droscher-Nielson, a member of the group that saved Pony in 2003.

Pony settled in one of the Indonesian islands, but since he did not develop his survival skills after spending enough time in jail, he will never be able to live in the wild.

However, fifteen years after her rescue, she is in good health and remains at the Nyaru Menteng Rehabilitation Center with seven other orangutans, where she learned to nest and collect food.

Although the case of Pony is extremely rare, factors such as deforestation and the illegal trade of mammals can contribute to the disappearance of these animals.

It is estimated that about 1,000 orabads are killed each year, so their babies are sold on the black market. For every baby sold, at least four other animals are killed.
