The detention of two months of half of Ukrainian sailors captured Sunday by Russian ships in the sea of Azov ordered the establishment of a court in the annexed Crimea.

Twelve of the 24 Ukrainian uniforms will remain in prison until January 25, according to Russian news agencies Tbad and Interfax. Until now, it was not known when to consider the penal treatment of their other colleagues.

The court's decision Simferopol shows that Moscow does not intend to withdraw despite Western pressure for the immediate release of Ukrainian soldiers and the three ships they were leading. Almost simultaneously with the decision taken in Simferopol, representatives of the 29 NATO members unanimously called for the release of ships and crews.

According to Russian media reports, Ukrainians are accused of violating a border, ranging up to six years in prison. Ukraine strongly rejects the allegation of entry into Russian territorial waters.

Earlier, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) had released a video in which three Ukrainians claimed to know the "provocative nature" of Ukrainian energy. It is not clear if the sailors spoke under fear or threats.

Among the temporary prisoners is the leader of one of the two Ukrainian gangs captured by the Russians. The third vessel occupied was a tugboat.

The episode of the sea of Azov revived the tension between Moscow and Kiev. On Monday, the Ukrainian parliament approved the declaration of a 30-day military law in the border provinces of Russia, starting Wednesday morning.

Russian President Putin's representative, Dmitry Peskoff, said the promulgation of a military law could heighten tensions in the south-eastern regions of Ukraine, indirectly but clearly evoking rebel-held areas. Russian.

Putin himself has not yet been deployed, but the spokesman said he would probably comment on this at the G20 summit in Argentina, starting at the end of the month. .

The conflict between the rebels and the regular Ukrainian army has been expanding since 2014 and claimed the lives of more than 10,000 people, but hostilities have decreased in the last two years.

The West has largely taken the part of Ukraine.

On Monday, at the UN Security Council's special session, the US ambbadador blamed the Kremlin for an unacceptable violation of international law and Ukraine's sovereignty, while evoking a systematic escalation of Russia.

The position of the United States was taken on behalf of the United Kingdom, Poland, the Netherlands and Sweden.

NATO has twice called for the immediate release of Ukrainian ships and crews.
