Lamia:

Another "bridge of life" was set up at night at the UTI of Lamia General Hospital to bring two patients to life. A father of two minor children, aged 53, suffered a severe stroke on the Lamia-Athens highway. His family immediately decided to donate his kidneys.

A major mobilization was launched by the intensive care unit coordination group, consisting of Sasha Tsirogianni and Maria Psoma, intensive, and a nurse, Evangelia Chaloupi, in consultation with the National Organization of Transplantation. (IMO), so that useful organs can reach compatible recipients. Doctors from Laos from Athens and Ippokrateio from Thessaloniki also participated in the team.

It should be noted that the Lamia IMS with coordinating director Dimitris Sfyra is the first regional coordination group in transplantation and at a time when statistics show a downward trend in organ donation.
