Fifty-nine people have already been arrested as part of a major police operation underway since yesterday aimed at dismantling two major criminal organizations that have systematically sold gold trafficked abroad.
Among those arrested, there is the owner of a large chain of pawnbrokers.
It should be noted that in addition to the 59 arrests, quantities of gold and silver were seized, as well as weapons, large sums of money and a lot of gold.
The operation is led by the Northeast Attica Security Division and the Maroussi Security Department, with the badistance of the Attica Security Directorate and ECAM.
