Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has also published his own problem. On his own device, the screen was black on the left and then black and right.

According to his instructions, he removed a screen protector from Samsung supposed to stay. He said that he did not know when he had withdrawn it because consumers would not know it as he claims. The problems probably started with that.
The phone comes with this protective layer / film. Samsung says you're not supposed to take it off. I removed it, not knowing that you are not supposed to do it (consumers will not know it either). Dieter Bohn of Die Therge had a different problem with his own Galaxy Fold. Note a small bulge below the screen just at the crease. This point distorts the displayed image.
The first samples of the first Samsung device are not good and it is certainly not good for a phone costing $ 2,000. This is a first generation device and problems are expected, but not the kind to make smartphones inoperative.
