AADE seized 12,500,000 pieces of cigarettes in Piraeus

A significant amount of contraband cigarettes was detected by the Ministry of Commerce Lamb in the Third Customs of Piraeus, with the help of the X-Ray system and the special DIABLO smoke detector dog, according to a Relevant announcement from the Independent Public Revenue Authority.

In particular, it is a container containing 12,500,000 pieces of cigarettes, while the cargo was declared in the bill of lading as "laminate floor".

The corresponding duties and taxes on the cargo, intended to be transhipped in another Greek port, amount to 2.6 million euros.
