In connection with the acquisition of 6.5% shares of ATTIKI ODOS SA and a corresponding percentage of ATTIKA DIODIA SA, AKTOR CONCESSIONS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ELLAKTOR, stood for a total amount of € 37.5 million.
As a result of the aforementioned transactions, AKTOR CONCESSIONS now controls 65,749% of the shares of ATTIKI ODOS SA. and ATTIKA DIODIA SA, out of the 59,249% that was its stake in both companies before.
It is recalled that ATTIKI ODOS SA is the company which undertook, through the concession contract concluded with the Greek State, the study, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the motorway, while ATTIKA DIODIA SA controls 80% of ATTIKES DIADROMES SA, which is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the motorway.
6.5% of the share capital of ATTIKI ODOS SA and ATTIKA DIODIA SA is the percentage attributable to AKTOR CONCESSIONS of the total percentage of 9.88% held by the two companies Piraeus Bank, for which they had sold a call of 39; international offers. As a result of a binding financial offer received by Piraeus Bank after the closing of the bid, it was sent – as stipulated in the shareholders' agreement of both companies – to the existing shareholders of ATTIKI ODOS SA and ATTIKA DIODIA SA, which has a right of option that AKTOR CONCESSIONS has exercised.
Commenting on the ongoing acquisition, the CEO of ELLAKTOR, Anastasios Kallitsantsis, said:
