A new Sony smartphone with the model number "J8220" appeared on the Internet. According to rumors, it would be the Sony Xperia 1R. The source reveals that the device offers a resolution of 5K, making it the first in the world. The name Sony Xperia 1R has not been officially confirmed. We may be talking about the same phone we just mentioned, the Xperia 2. We've already seen the Xperia 2 renderings, which had a compact screen, almost without glbades. We can therefore expect the Xperia 1R to incorporate these features instead of the Xperia 2.
In addition to revealing that the next Sony Xperia 1R has a resolution of 5.040 x 2.160 pixels, UA Prof has not revealed anything else. Its predecessor, Sony Xperia 1, has a resolution of 3,840 x 1,664 (4K). The camera arrived at IFA this year as the world's first 4: 9 4K Cinema HDR screen. It is worth noting that in 2015, Sony launched the Xperia Z5 as the market's first 4K smartphone and is currently preparing the first 5K phone.
If the Xperia 2 rumor actually comes under the name of Xperia 1R, we have at least the possible design details. The phone will arrive with a 6.1-inch 21: 9 Cinema Wide screen. It will have a triple camera on the back and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, with at least 6GB of RAM and a modest 3,200 mAh battery with support for wireless charging. Leaks indicate that the device does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, just like its predecessor.
Sony has not yet announced when it will present the flagship products Xperia 2 or Xperia 1R. However, leaks want the device to be featured in IFA 2019, which will begin in early September.
