Jack Mac, founder of Chinese giant electronic commerce company Alibaba and the richest man in China, is a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the official press reported.

His membership of the CCP, which has 89 million members, was revealed by the People's Daily, the CCP body, in an article in which he praises the Chinese protagonists.

The entrepreneur, who thought he preferred not to be involved in politics, joined the ranks of other extremely wealthy CCP members, such as billionaire Su Jiayin, real estate entrepreneur and founder of Evergrande Group.

Laiki Imerisia mentions in his article published Monday that Jack Ma played an important role in the new "Silk Road", the Chinese giant investment program, launched mainly in 2013 by the president, mainly in Asia and Europe . Shi Jinping.

The article is also hailed as one of the "excellent builders of Chinese-style socialism in Chechiang Province", where Alibaba's headquarters is located.

Since state-owned enterprises dominate many sectors of the economy, membership in the CCP can sometimes facilitate private entrepreneurial efforts in a complex legislative and economic context.

President Shi wants to extend the party's influence to the private sector. Each company in which more than three CCP members work should therefore establish a party core or, if the number of members is insufficient, cooperate with neighboring companies for this purpose.

Three out of four private companies have already complied with this requirement.

According to the latest rules announced on party organizations in companies and published Sunday by the official New China News Agency, these CCP cores should "guide and oversee commercial activities in order to strictly comply with national laws and regulations." .

Jack Ma did not say that he was a member of the party when Alibaba was introduced to the New York Stock Exchange in 2014. However, the official media did not specified he was already a party member.

Alibaba spokesman declined to comment.

Jack had previously stated that he should move away from power: "My philosophy is to love the government, but never to marry it," she said in 2007 at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
