The European Union will make tickets available to 12,000 young Europeans aged 18 to get to know Europe better!

That's what the European Commission has announced, which entitles 12,000 young people to get to know Europe as part of the second edition of DiscoverEU.

EU citizens born in 2000 may apply, individually or collectively, by 11 December for the corresponding Internet portal (https://europa.eu/youth/discovereu_en) in order to obtain a title transportation allowing them to: travel up to one month.

Candidates selected on the basis of their answers to certain questions relating to Europe will be able to travel from 15 April to the end of October 2019, mainly by train, with the obligation to travel to at least one EU country. in which they reside.

The selected persons will have the right to finance their transport up to EUR 260 and will have to cover their other accommodation costs in Europe. A quota of 12,000 free tickets is provided for each Member State, depending on the size of its population compared to that of the EU.

The DiscoverEU company started in June 2018 with a budget of 18 million euros. In its previous edition, 15,000 young people aged 18 had participated.

"The goal is to offer them new opportunities to discover the rich cultural heritage of the continent, get to know other people, learn from contact with other cultures and see for themselves what means to be European, "said the European Commission program description.
