The pernicious figure of Manos is no longer near us. He moved to other places that he loved so much through his writings. But his work will remain alive, just like our memories of him. It's our only chance to know him and the cultural legacy he's leaving generously. Manos Eleftheriou was born in Ermoupolis of Syros on March 12, 1938.
At the age of 14, he moved from Syros to a family in 1967, in Halandri, to reside after a few years and for the rest of his life in Neo Psychiko.

In 1955, he meets Angelos Terzakis, a decisive meeting, because with his own advice, he will begin to attend as a listener's lessons in dramaturgy. School of the National Theater. The following year, he is at the theater department of Stavrakos School.

In 1960, he did his military service in Ioannina and two years later he published his first poetic collection entitled "Housing" with his own money. At the same time he will give us his first words, of which "The train leaves at 8", that Mikis Theodorakis turned later.

In October 1963 and for sixteen consecutive years he worked in "Reader's Digest". Meanwhile, his first two stories will be published. In 1964, he appeared in Greek discography where he collaborated with Christos Leonti and Mikis Theodorakis. Their collaboration will be interrupted because of the dictatorship, and these songs were first published in Paris in 1970. Since then, he will collaborate with the greatest Greek composers and performers, having written texts for more than 400 songs

. At the same time, he writes and illustrates children's stories and takes pictures on the main theme of his homeland, Syros. In the 1990s, he wrote and broadcast in the second program and in Athens 9.84. In 2004, he published his first novel entitled The Time of Chrysanthemums which was honored with the State Prize for Literature in 2005. In 2013, the Academy of Athens awarded him for his entire work
He left life on July 22, 2018.
