Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan issued a new warning to Athens and Nicosia, he said, against their "risky" actions in front of his party's parliamentary group.
"Turkey is determined to make use of its rights derived from international law regarding the Aegean conflict and the Cyprus problem," Erdogan said during the Anadolu agency broadcast.
He added that "the risky behavior of Greece and the Republic of Cyprus in the exploration of hydrocarbons in the eastern Mediterranean is a threat and a danger above all for them".
He added that "Turkey will not retreat as little as possible from its positions in the Eastern Mediterranean or any other region and we will defend our rights until the end".
Erdogan's placement comes after the publication in the Turkish press of various maps that revive the extensive Turkish claims in the Mediterranean, without taking into account islands such as Kastelorizo.
