Almost every year Huawei chooses IFA Berlin to present its new processors, so it's no surprise that the first information on the SoC Kirin 980 is used in the Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei series P30
According to Chinese sources, the SoC Kirin 980 will be equipped with an octa-core processor with high-performance 4x cores Cortex-A77 clocked at 2.8 GHz and 4x cores Cortex-A55. It will be built using TSMC's FinFET 7nm process and is expected to incorporate Cambridge's latest artificial intelligence technology to provide 5 trillion calculations per watt with a smoother NPU operation
It also appears that HiSilicon (its Huawei subsidiary, which manufactures its processors, will design its own GPU for the SoC Kirin 980 which will be 1.5 times faster than the Snapdragon 845 SoC Adreno 630.
We are waiting for more as we approach the calendar IFA Berlin 2018 .
