France: July 14 parade with a look at the world – World

An error and a small accident, in the eyes of French President Emmanuel Makron, marked the parade of July 14, the birthday of France in San Elizé, where the French hope to meet tomorrow night to celebrate again if they win in the World Cup finals.

The unexpected was not absent from the military parade: one of the nine Alphajets that would form the French flag in the sky, was producing red, not blue smoke.

Although social networking sites quickly published the rumor that it was done deliberately and that the red color symbolized the blood drawn by French soldiers for their homeland, the organizers, the Air Force, admitted that it was an error.

The aircraft was provided with red and not blue paint. In the nine Alphajets, there were three wounded soldiers, members of the French Special Forces.

The second inconsistency was right in front of the official platform, when two police bikers clashed, fortunately at low speed.

The two policemen performed figures in a "choreography" involving motorcyclists, horses and pedestrian soldiers. The police, however, got up very quickly, under the watchful eye of President Macron, who smiled at them with understanding.

The guests of honor for this year's celebration were Singapore's Prime Minister Hossein Long and Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Congo. This year ends 160 years since the beginning of diplomatic relations between France and Japan, while for 20 years, Singaporean pilots have been trained on the French base of Casco. The flags of the two Asian states were at the head of the parade, next to a sign bearing the French national symbol.

They were joined by seven soldiers of all nationalities. Special prizes were awarded to the units sent to help the local population after the devastating hurricanes of Irena and Maria of the French West Indies last September.

A total of 4,290 soldiers, 220 vehicles, 250 horses, 64 aircraft and 30 helicopters participated in this year's parade
