There used to be many ancient ponds in the vast basin of Helis de Mars, which is essentially the largest visible crater in our solar system.
NASA scientists and the Foreign Intelligence Research Institute (SETI), led by Henrik Hargitay, who published the astrobiology journal Astrobiology, have uncovered tangible evidence of evidence that the hemisphere of the neighboring planet contained 34 ponds and until now, only such an ancient lake had been identified.
Hydrogeographic badysis shows that lake water – at a time when the climate of Mars was much warmer and wetter – came from different sources, such as rainfall, rivers, floods and groundwater . Some lakes were 77 km long, as the huffingtonpost says.
The new study reinforces the image of scientists who, before Aries became a cold, dry place, was no longer in danger, so much water was flowing to the surface, as is currently the case on Earth. The researchers do not even exclude that if the lakes were close enough to a source of heat, they could have a life form.
