Hands-on with Android P Beta 3 on OnePlus 6

OnePlus is one of the few partner OEMs of Google to offer the first previews of Android P to the first smartphones. Just a few days ago, they made AndroidP Developer Preview 4 (Beta 3) officially available for OnePlus 6, so we chose, with the help of XDA Developers, to see this user interface, its features and the changes it brings

Note: OnePlus refers to Android P Developer Preview 4 as Developer Preview 3 because it is the third available preview. Developer Preview 1 made its official debut on Google Pixel smartphones only

New menu Recent

The new recent menu has finally arrived! He came to Google Pixel smarthones with Android P Beta 2, but OnePlus kept the oldest implementation until this release. It has side-scrolling multitasking window and still works with OnePlus gestures enabled. It is interesting to note that the Lock, Full Screen, and Split Screen modes are switched to an overflow menu in the upper right corner

New Lock Screen and Quick Toggle

There are new, lock screen and fast rocker sections . The icons have changed when the device goes into silent mode, the upper space at the top will tell you. It's not worth saying, as we can see from the slider alert, but it's a welcome addition.

New alert slider, volume control, and power menu animations

A small number of animation changes have occurred for the alert slider, volume controls, and the power menus.

The power menu and multimedia controls come with new icons corresponding to the general philosophy of Android P. The diet menu does not follow

Sleep Standby Optimization

The new sleep mode optimization is white even when you activate the dark theme. Interestingly, it is enabled by default. It aims to disable the Internet connection when your device is in sleep mode to save energy.
