The owner and manager of a hotel were arrested in India after a young woman reported that 40 men had raped her for four days in their company.
The 22-year-old explained to the police that an eminent woman had promised to find him a job at this hotel in Hariana, in northern India. But instead of recruiting her, they detained her, raped her and raped her, according to police officer Ratzendar Kumar Mina.
Three police officers were released because they were negligent and "did not inform their superiors of this situation."
This new case adds to the long list recent badual badaults in India. About 110 rapes are reported daily to the authorities, according to official data. Earlier this week, 17 men were arrested and charged with harbading an 11-year-old girl for several weeks.
In 2012, gang rape and the murder of a student in New Delhi caused shock in India and around the world. In early July, the Supreme Court sentenced three men to death for this case.
