The prosecutor ordered a preliminary examination of offenses related to the anti-racist law, following a letter addressed to his administration by a workers' union of the Urban Transport Organization of Thessaloniki, referring to the movement of refugees living in the host structures of the city.

By order of the head of the Thessaloniki Prosecutor's Office, Stefanos Zarkantzias, the defaults committee prosecutor, Emmanuela Ketsjatzis, commissioned a preliminary investigation into the department of racist violence in Thessaloniki.

In the document in question, allegedly written by members of the trade union "DROMEAS" it is claimed that "cultured" refugees have bad relations "with their personal hygiene" and that there is therefore "a significant risk of contagious diseases for drivers and for the rest of the pbadengers entangled among them".

In the same document, the authors ask, among other things, place a "panic button" on city buses serving refugee reception areas, vaccinate drivers and undergo blood tests, as "we are worried about our health and that of our family members".

This letter aroused the anger of OAS President Stelios Pappas, who, in his previous statements on the "Macedonian News Agency" radio, referred to "a plot text inspired by racist, do not join them ".

"They also do not say that migrants are foreigners, can we put them in asterisk form? The Weimar Republic can not and can not come back," commented Mr Pappas, calling this line a minority. . She also stated that the document had been returned as unacceptable and said she would not talk to her.
