The latest militants of the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia left the city of Manbjeth in northern Syria yesterday (15.07.2018). It was a long standing request from Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Turkey to be satisfied.

Turkey and Erdogan oppose the presence of YPG Kurds in Syria near its borders. He regards the YPG as a terrorist organization and a branch of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has been banned since 1984 on Turkish soil. For Washington, YPG is an important ally in the fight against the Islamic State.

"The Milwaukee Military Council announces that the last batch of Military Advisers (YPG) retired on July 15, 2018 after completing the military training mission and preparing our forces …", states a release of the city militia.

The Mumbeld Military Council is an ally of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) supported by the United States in northern Syria. He repeatedly said that there were no YPG fighters in Manbjeth, only a few YPG military advisers.

Last month, Turkey and the United States reached an agreement on Manbjeth after months of disputes. Under the agreement, the YPGs will be withdrawn from Manbjid, and Turkey and the United States will jointly undertake the maintenance of security and stability in the city.
