Like Saint Paisios was born today

Agios Paisios was born on July 25, 1924, who was proclaimed the Holy of the Orthodox Church and his memory is celebrated on July 12.

He was the son of Prodromos and Elampias Eneppidis and had 8 other brothers and sisters. On August 7, 1924, Arsenios was baptized. In 1945 he went to the army and was clbadified and served as an innocent against the Greek Civil War.

Arsenios first went to Mount Athos in 1949. He first traveled to the skeleton of Saint Panteleimon in the Eisodion cell tis Theotokou. There he met Father Cyril, who was a master in the monastery, and followed him faithfully.
Then he went to Esphigmenou Monastery, where he celebrated the ceremony and took his name Averkios
He defended his hard work.

In 1966, he became ill and had his lungs removed. He was lodged at the Sanctuary of St. John the Evangelist at Souroti

. In 1993, his health deteriorated. Colorectal cancer hit the door. The pain he felt was horrible but he had decided that he would not take any medicine. On July 12, 1994, he fell asleep and was buried in the Sanctuary of St. John the Theologian at Souroti, Thessalonica.
