Monitoring the health of adolescents under the age of 16 is now mandatory, by law, by pediatricians.

This is valid from 19 October 2018 and is examined by adolescents under 18 years of age with chronic diseases followed by special units.

At the same time, he pointed out that many parents did not know that adolescent health should be subject to annual supervision and that their children would go to the doctor only when they were in the hospital. they became sick.

"After the age of 14, we did not know who would watch the teenagers and whether they were following doctors or not following them." Now, because of the law, the pediatrician monitors the health of adolescents and also changes the Pediatric specialty educational program, as of 2019, pediatric physicians will receive training in adolescent health and the specialty will expand over five years, "said Ms Galli.

Ms Galli pointed out that adolescents are a healthy population, but that their health should be monitored because too many hormonal, physical and emotional changes occur at this age. That's why he recommends teens to take exams every year, such as checkups that adults should perform each year.

"The examinations to be done by the teenager are personalized based on their history.Tracking is recommended and the American Pediatric Society establishes guidelines for monitoring adolescent health and renews each year," said Ms. Galli .

The health of teenage girls will be the focus of the 9th anniversary of adolescence, to be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 and from 9:00 to 14:30 at the Research Center on the dissemination of research results of the AUT. .
