Patent LG shows us how she thinks of designing her own folding smartphone

We've heard about flexible and retractable smartphones screens for a few years now. But still seeing a phone maker mbadively produce a smartphone that actually bends. We've heard rumors of Samsung, Huawei and Motorola on such smartphones, but a recently released LG patent shows that LG is trying to do the same.

The patent was originally filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office at the end of 2017 and described as a "mobile terminal" – a technical description of what a smartphone is. It describes a smartphone with a flexible screen that folds horizontally halfway the length of the phone through a four-armed hinge that functions as the hinge of the Microsoft Surface Book

The phone has two microphones, two speakers and double antennas. One of the cameras will be placed on the outside of the closed screen so that users can take pictures of the screen while it is closed. The screen will turn on when it opens and there will be a flawless design.

Of course, the patent does not describe how a user is supposed to interact with such a device. It seems that the shrink screen is a trend that smartphone manufacturers are really trying to reach and we will certainly see new developments in the coming years
