Samsung Display has just announced that it has developed a flexible "unbreakable" OLED panel. The accessory is designed for smartphones and is certified by UL – Underwriters Laboratories working for the US Department of Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA)
The press release states that the screen shatterproof pbaded the real-time resistance test based on military standards established by the US Department of Defense
Hojung Kim, general manager of Samsung Display, said "Improved plastic panels are particularly suitable for devices portable electronics not only because of unruly but also because of its lightness, permeability and hardness, all of which are very similar to normal glbad. "
The company plans to use the durable OLED panel and for the car consoles, mobile military devices, portable game consoles and tablet PCs to learn.
The tests, made by UL, were a series of falls. The first test was 26 drops from 1.2 meters, followed by tests at high and low temperatures (between 71 degrees and -32 degrees Celsius). The panel continued to function normally "without any damage to the front, sides or edges" .
