The provision of 710 million euros for the social dividend includes the amendment in question presented on Wednesday (28/11/2018) by the government, the Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, to emphasize in this regard the approach of the House: "Today, we are making a provision for the social dividend. This is the third year in a row that we are able to give to the weakest. We are making supplies today, just like last year. From the surplus of the economy and this year we have the opportunity and we give the equivalent of the amount of last year".
The Prime Minister stated that an amount of EUR 710 million is initially planned. This amount may also, depending on the adjustments, increase accordingly.
He noted that the exact amount and criteria would be determined by a joint ministerial decision that the government expects to see published to next Monday to open the corresponding platform on Tuesday and allow interested parties to make their demands that on December 14 the beneficiaries of the social dividend be paid.
He said that it is estimated that the measure is concerned 1.3-1.4 households, about 3.5 million beneficiaries.
