The Technical University of Crete undertakes the research on which will be based the historical and technological documentation relating to the redevelopment and rehabilitation of the Venetian Neorion complex in the old town of Chania.
The works will have a delivery period of twenty months from the date of signature of the corresponding contract, the project budget being 440,000 euros.
The works, as they were highlighted at the meeting of the city council that approved the proposal of the municipal authority, will focus on the monumental and museum character of the Venetian NeoRion complex, proposing uses to conserve them and highlight them, as well as a documentation on the technological part of the projects.
The Venetian Neorians are one of the most representative buildings of the Venetian era in Chania. Until 2006, they organized a number of cultural activities and activities, but in January 2006, they suffered major earthquakes, which banned their use.
