Slovenia has appointed General Alenka Ermenc as chief of staff of its armed forces, making Slovenia the only country in NATO where the armed forces are headed by a woman.
Ermenc was promoted to squadron on November 23 and, on November 28, to former A / SFED of Slovenia, Major General Alan Geder. In fact, Ermenc is the first woman to be appointed chief of staff, both in Slovenia and in the whole of NATO.
