Twelve people died from the wave of bad weather in Sicily. Among them, an entire family who had gathered in the country house located near Palermo for dinner, when the water and mud rushed because of the overflow of an adjacent river, have broke the doors of the house and covered the rooms up to the ceiling.

The family of 9 members was defeated. The firefighters found the dead bodies of children of 1, 3 and 15 years old. The other six family members, victims of bad weather, were between 32 and 65 years old. In addition, a 44-year-old man lost his life Saturday night to Vikari behind the wheel of his car.

The rumor has risen today after a Sicilian man and woman living in Germany found themselves stuck in their car in a torrent in the region of Agrigento, a little further south.

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced today via the internet that he was going to Sicily to visit the affected areas.

The weather has caused extensive damage in the larger areas of Palermo and Acaraganda, where many rivers and streams have overflowed due to heavy rains, resulting in the flooding of vast farmland.
