The US government is considering "all options" to stop the violence in Nicaragua, according to a State Department official
"All Choices are on the Table," said Todd Robinson, Department Official of state for Central America region. "We will use all the tools we have to continue to put pressure on the government of (Nicaraguan President Daniel) Ortega," added Robinson.
As he pointed out, those responsible for the violence must "international community for their actions."
Meanwhile, the Nicaraguan government has organized events to commemorate the 39th anniversary of the Sandinista revolution, led by Ortega.
Celebrations took place a day after the Organization of American States (OSCE) condemned the violence, demanding that President Ortega meet one of Nicaragua's key leaders in the Nicaraguan capital.
