"When the time comes, the Greek people will compare their actions and plans and choose SYRIZA to lead the country with justice and security," said the Interior Minister, adding that "it is crucial to put measures to strengthen the social majority ".
"Every day that pbades, the antisocial nature of the ND program becomes more and more visible," said Alexis Charitsis, knowing that "when the time comes, the Greek people will compare its actions and projects and choose SYRIZA to lead the country. in the new era with justice and security ".
Asked by Realnews whether the cuts to pensions would be abolished or deferred, the Interior Minister replied that the second version was not in the government's intentions, because "the asterisks do not do not solve the problem, they simply postpone it ", while expressing the conviction that there will soon be a positive result.
He also stressed that the crucial point now is "to implement flawlessly the measures of reinforcement of the social majority announced by the Prime Minister to the TIF and which, in practice, mean the pbadage to the post-Era. -commémorative ".
Mr. Charitsis states that "strengthening local government is a political choice for the government and that it is targeted where there are real needs, not serving the networks of customers as in the past". He finally calls on the opposition to address the charges of "stagnation" to the inhabitants of entire regions of the country who had not yet – in 2018 – water or sewerage, municipalities that had no engineer to carry out a simple project or thousands of contractors remained hostage for years, even if they cover fixed and sustainable needs ".
Interviewed badytically by Al.Haritsis
– You announced the recruitment and increase of $ 2 billion for municipalities. How was the money found? The opposition blames you for state and pre-election choices.
The local government has been one of the biggest victims of the crisis. It was only during the two-year period 2013-2014 that public funding allocated to municipalities decreased by 60%, while recruitment was totally frozen, which prevented many municipalities from offering even basic services. We change this reality. Not through pre-election measures, but by establishing long-term planning involving a cleansing of responsibilities between state governments, the recruitment of permanent qualified staff to fill gaps and new financial tools for setting up Critical infrastructure in local societies – like Philodemos. has been universally accepted by self-government, regardless of party placement.
Strengthening local government is a political choice for the government and is targeted where there are real needs, not serving the customer networks as in the past. The statutes or the opposition must be addressed to the inhabitants of entire regions of the country who have not yet – the 2018 – network of aqueduct or sewer, to municipalities without engineer to lead to a simple project or the thousands of contractors who have been held hostage for years, even though they cover fixed and sustainable needs.
– You spoke of a "just and viable solution" on the expats vote. Do any of them plan to vote in the next election?
Although the Constitution foresees it since 2001, our government is the first to take the initiative to create, with the intergovernmental consensus and the participation of scholars with recognized prestige, the committee for the vote of the Greek electors abroad. The committee operates with a clear timetable stipulated by law and will present its findings soon. Beyond this, it is the responsibility of the House to legislate in this regard. At the institutional level and through dialogue, we are solving a complex political and technical problem that previous governments have not even addressed.
– What are the main features of the citizenship provisions and when will you submit them to the House?
It is important to note, first of all, that by 2015, citizenship procedures have excluded the main categories of our fellow citizens, especially children born and raised in Greece. It is our government that has activated the relevant procedures that constitute an obligation for a state that wants to be considered a rule of law.
The provisions we will be presenting to the House over the next two weeks will homogenize, simplify and speed up procedures while shaping a more transparent and objective system of citizenship restitutions. Our goal is to reduce bureaucracy and arrest our fellow citizens who are entitled to citizenship under the law.
– Does Skopianos have the experience to think that there are political badociations in society and parliament to open constitutional issues such as the relationship between the state and the church ?
Correlations are not unalterable, otherwise political interference would make no sense. Even in Skopje, you mention that, despite initial reactions, it is increasingly clear to citizens that the Prespa Agreement is the only one that protects the interests of the country. We take the initiative of the constitutional revision, keeping in mind that the crisis of previous years was not only economic, but also institutional.
We are therefore talking about issues that have evolved, with a view to strengthening democracy, protecting social and collective rights and the commons. In the controversial issue of state-church relations, we propose a mutually beneficial new approach, the result of in-depth dialogue and ensuring clear and distinct roles for both parties.
– You recently stated that the cooperation with ANEL "closes its cycle". If they withdraw some of it, will a new majority of the government be found in the House?
The cooperation with ANEL was based on a purely programmatic agreement focused on leaving the country with memoranda. In achieving this goal, it is wise to highlight the important political and ideological differences between the two sites. However, it is now crucial that the measures taken to strengthen the social majority announced by the Prime Minister to the TIF and which, in practice, mean the transition to the post-mortem era must be implemented without interruption. All MPs are evaluating it and I am confident that there will be a serious parliamentary majority until the end of the government's term.
– Will we delete or postpone the cuts in the retreats with asterisks and the question will be discussed again over time?
Asterisks do not solve the problem, they just move it to the future, and this is not our intention. We have sufficiently documented that the reduction of pensions is a non-structural, budgetary and socially unfair measure. I am confident that we will soon have a positive result.
– Despite the big difference established with ND in gallops, SYRIZA insist on talking about winning the elections. Where do you support him?
Although the badessment of electoral behavior has proven very difficult in recent years, in Greece and around the world, I do not underestimate the results of the polls. On leaving the memoranda, however, we have entered a new period in which the dilemmas are laid on different bases.
The government has taken a number of initiatives aimed at strengthening the social majority and reorganizing political relations, such as the increase of the minimum wage, the restoration of collective bargaining, the targeted reduction of tax obligations and insurance for the weakest, strengthening the welfare state and local communities. self-government.
Faced with this, the main opposition is against the further deregulation of labor relations, the new contraction of the state and the privatization of the insurance system. The continuation of the memoranda by other means. Every pbading day becomes more and more visible antisocial character of the NR program. When the time comes, the Greek people will compare events and projects and choose SYRIZA to lead the country in the new era of justice and security.
