About two months after the official release of the operating system Android 9.0 Pieh Sony announced its smartphone upgrade program in the latest version of Android.
While the Sony Xperia XZ3 bundled with Android 9 Pie preloaded, the company has already begun to upgrade to the latest version of Android Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact.
Now, the company says some devices will receive the Android Pie update sooner than expected, while the other devices' schedule is consistent with the original design and runs smoothly. Sony adds that the high-end phones of the company will be updated in the coming weeks.
Android 9 Pie for Android Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact will be published from 26 October, while Xperia XZ2 Premium will receive Android Pie update from November 7th. However, their users XA2, XA2 Ultra and XA2 Plus wait until March 4th to receive the latest update.
It should be noted that not all devices will necessarily receive the new update on the same release date. The company said that the software upgrade is a gradual process and that the moment when everyone will receive the update depends on various factors including the country, location and the network operator.
