Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Weezer at Rock Petco Park at San Diego Comic-Con 2020 – San Diego Comic-Con Official Blog

We're not even far from Comic-Con 2019 in San Diego for two months and we already have our first real off-site announcement for the San Diego Comic-Con 2020. Well, sort of. Most.

Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer embark on a tour of the Hella Mega stadium next summer. They will be going to Petco Park on July 24 – Friday, right in the middle of Comic-Con.

To our knowledge, this is the first time that a stadium concert that is not directly related to Comic-Con (an event such as the MTV Party in the Park) takes place at Petco during the convention. In recent years, Petco has apparently been less and less used for the convention – with former favorite events such as MTV, The Walking Dead Escape, Nerd HQ and others closing their shop. So it's nice to see the space used during the conference, giving participants another option after normal working hours and likely adding a fresh atmosphere to the festivities (how much music can be listened to?) . Of course, it could also make walking around the area – and God's speed for locals trying to find parking – particularly painful.

According to Rolling Stone, the Los Angeles-based ska punk band, The Interrupters, will open the show, followed by Weezer, Fall Out Boy, and then Green Day.

General tickets will go on sale Friday, September 20 at 10 am local time, with pre-sales on standby the day before.
