Grilled cheese party arrives in San Luis Obispo

Calling all cheese lovers, San Luis Obispo organizes its first grilled cheese festival in June and promises to melt everyone.

National Grilled Cheese Day was Friday, but cheese lovers will have to wait until June 1 to celebrate this holiday. The organizers of the festival say that it will be a period of Gouda.

The event will be the perfect place to sample unlimited amounts of grilled cheese varieties, sip local beer and wine while supporting local organizations.

There will also be a grilled cheese preparation, where chefs will confront each other to see who has "The Best SLO Cheese".

"At least 12 teams will be competing here," said Theresa Harpin, founder and CEO of Restorative Partners. "There will be people who are just regrouping in the community; others will come from professional restaurants and everything in between. "

The anchor of KSBY, Carina Corral, will judge, tasting all the delicious sandwiches.

The festival will take place at Lake Laguna Park. It will begin at 12 o'clock. and ends at 4 pm
