Grimes is auctioning 10 exclusive digital works of art – in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) – for the next 48 hours, the singer’s very first collection of crypto art destined for the burgeoning collectibles market of the blockchain.
Some of the digital artwork from the WarNymph Collection Vol. 1 – on sale now through Nifty Gateway – comes with exclusive music created by Grimes; the track “Earth” features the unreleased soundtracks “Ærythe”, “Mars Theme” “Mars” and “Death of the Old” contains a demo of “Anhedonia”. (Within 30 minutes of the auction opening, the price of this latest digital work had fallen from $ 111 to $ 123,456 at the time of publication.)
Describing the WarNymph series, on which Grimes collaborated with his brother Mac Boucher, Nifty Gateway said: “Grimes, with the WarNymph Project, explores the fluidity of identity in the virtual age: the ability to create, augment and divide into unlimited. avatars, create unlimited worlds and develop rich and complex knowledge. “
A percentage of the proceeds from sales of WarNymph NFT will be donated to Carbon180, an NGO dedicated to reducing carbon emissions.
